BATIN: A woman barely 20 years of age has given her consent to marry an 81-year-old man in Hafr Al-Batin after the latter insisted on obtaining her full consent both written and verbal. The elderly suitor reportedly informed his future spouse that he already has three wives and a number of grandchildren, some of whom are similar in age to the bride-to-be herself, while the woman said she was “fully content” with the offer, despite her future husband being older than her own father. The elderly man reportedly “just about” passed the required pre-marriage medical examination conducted at King Khaled Hospital in Hafr Al-Batin, and the couple has set a date for the wedding shortly after the beginning of the summer holidays, once school examinations have ended.
