RIYADH: Elsewedy Electric, one of the biggest energy solutions providers in the Middle East and Africa with 30 production facilities in 15 countries, held a seminar Wednesday at the InterContinental Hotel in Riyadh aimed at achieving effective communication with the consulting offices and specialists in the field of electricity and energy all over Saudi Arabia.
Under the theme "The Future of Energy Solutions", the one-day forum highlighted the latest technologies applied by Elsewedy Electric to introduce integrated energy solutions that are now used across all segments – from industry, building and construction to oil and gas.
More than 200 delegates from various consultancy and engineering companies in the Kingdom attended the seminar which is regarded as very timely, considering the robust infrastructure developments going on in the country.
The Kingdom is expected to undergo massive construction and building growth as a result of the latest social and economic initiatives launched by King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques sometime in February and March of this year. Commitment to quality policy is a tenet Elsewedy Electric's chief executive strives to uphold.
Eng. Ahmed Elsewedy, CEO, in his opening speech to welcome all participants in the seminar, stressed that the company "assures maximum effectiveness and efficiency through all processes and systems, making sure that every aspect of the company activity is aligned to guarantee that best quality products are achieved."
Participants were enlightened by the various presentations made by senior executives of Elsewedy Electric Group on issues pertaining to cables, transformers, meters and allied subjects, adding that the discussions were highly informative.
As an industry leader, Elsewedy Electric absolutely commits to the requirements of Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2000); BASEC Quality Management System ISO / TS 16949:2002 (For Automotive Facilities); ISO 17025 (Competence of Testing & Calibration Laboratories); Environmental Management System (ISO 14001:2004); Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS 18001:2007).
As a respected electrical equipment manufacturer specializing in cables and power transformers, the company generated a 26 percent increase in net profit in 2010 at EGP795 million. In January 2011, Elsewedy Electric has been included in the Boston Consulting Group's 100 emerging multinational markets "BCG Global Challengers" report as a leading company in the Middle East and Africa in the field of integrated energy solutions.
