ASIR: A female teacher has asked authorities to investigate a beating she and her husband suffered at the hands of a secret patrol that also unveiled her face before the guard of a school where she teaches. The woman said her husband, who transports women teachers in his private car for a fee, was stopped by a secret Traffic Department patrol during his daily trip. The patrolmen gave the driver a traffic ticket for jumping a red light and a quarrel broke out between them, she said. Patrolmen followed his car to the school's surroundings, where they attacked the man, in front of the fathers of female teachers and the school guard, the woman said. The woman said she tried to intervene to rescue her husband, who sustained numerous injuries, but she was beaten up until she fell on the ground and her veil fell off her head. She said that the patrol team took her husband to a detention facility and impounded his car. The woman said she was referred to Bisha Hospital for treatment and a report was issued specifying a five-day recovery period. The Asir Region Police spokesman confirmed the incident and said the driver is being questioned.
