JEDDAH: A group of Saudi women nurses has filed a lawsuit against the Ministry of Health at the administrative courts in Makkah and Jeddah demanding to also be paid an “epidemic allowance” like their fellow colleagues. They said they also have to deal with patients suffering from infectious diseases. A representative from the Ministry of Health will attend the courts' sessions which are expected to take place in the next few days. They also argued that the nursing staff is the spearhead of any hospital or medical institution and deal directly with patients suffering from different illnesses, including communicable diseases. They said it is odd that this allowance is only paid to one group and not the other.
