DAMMAM: In a move to prevent a backlog of cases building up, the Board of Grievances requires courts in cities and governorates to handle at least 35 cases daily. According to Okaz/Saudi Gazette sources the measure has already been enforced. Under the new system, the circuit's judge receives the cases in writing from plaintiffs and defendants. The judge studies the case in four days then fixes a date for the session. The system makes it possible for the judges of the 12 circuits of the Dammam Administrative Court to see 450 cases a day. In related development the Board of Grievances in Riyadh is scheduled to arrange a special meeting for the heads of the administrative courts from all regions on Monday.
