DHAMAD: A man who returned to the Kingdom was involved in stealing jewels and gold ornaments from a house in Dhamad when its owners were not home, officials said. Investigations revealed that the suspect who was apprehended by Dhamad police had been convicted of setting a car on fire. He was sentenced to prison, lashes of the whip and deportation, but he returned by sneaking across the border, police said. Staff Sgt. Shaikhain Ayil Ma'shi and Pvt. First Class Hussein Dayil arrested the thief after he watched it, determined that the owners were not at home, sneaked in and stole jewelry and gold worth more than SR60,000, police said. Dhamad Police found the man one hour after the crime was reported.
