A con artist who claimed to be representing a well-known businesswoman in the purchase of jewels has been arrested after stealing a diamond ring worth a quarter of a million riyals. The con man gained the confidence of a jeweler's shop through repeated visits until the day he asked to view the diamond ring, and when the jeweler handed over the piece the villain, of Yemeni nationality, fled the store. With the help of incriminating CCTV camera recordings the police managed to identify the thief and arrest him. The ring was returned to its rightful owner.
