JEDDAH: The Good Concept Forum organized Thursday at Effat University was held to envision and create a social fabric by inspiring young people. The event was held under the auspices of Princess Luluah Al-Faisal, vice chairperson of the Effat University Board of Founders and Board of Trustees, and general supervisor of the school. “Effat University is proud to discuss the issue of Saudi youths because it is part of our responsibility,” said Dr. Houria Oudghiri, provost of Effat University and associate professor of Computer Science. “It is important to let our students know about the practices in our society, especially in the business market, before they graduate.” The first session of forum, “Youth Optimization and Their Effective Integration in the Society,” was moderated by Mobashar Malik, a Saudi Aramco training consultant. “I think Saudi youth needs motivation, inspiration by role models and self-realization,” he said. “This event will help highlight the problems facing the youths and find solutions.” Dr. Haifa Jamal Al-Lail, another panelist and president of Effat University, advised young people to take care about what they are doing and avoid living alone in the world. “Creating relationships, listening to good instructions and defining role models are the most important points that our youth need to take care of,” she said. Omar Shaban, Business Development and Marketing manager at the Healthcare Development Holding Company, focused on the need for youths to present their ideas to lead the change in the business market. Some Saudi youths have made great progress, said Tarek Al-Amoudi, HR manager at Procter and Gamble; he noted that Saudis in their 30s have become executives for the largest companies. The second session presented was by Dr. Waleed Al-Faitihi, chairman of the Board of the Directors and the chief executive officer of the International Medical Center. The third session, “Good Concept of Marketing Competition,” was presented by Ziad Jarrar, head of Business Development and a partner at Spotmedia.
