The Kingdom has set up a 30,000 sq. meter relief camp in the Chinese city of Mima Netso in Sichuan Province for victims of the recent earthquake. The center is capable of sheltering more than 15,000 families in about 11,300 tents. Besides, several health clinics have also been established in the camp. Arrangements are under way to set up three more sheltering centers to accommodate about 50,000 families. The Kingdom has also extended relief assistance and financial support amounting to SR50 million to China to help it in confronting the human and material losses caused by the earthquake.
