time world champion Sebastien Loeb led the field yet again after the first day of the rally of Italy Friday when Mini's return to the sport suffered an early blow. Championship leader Loeb held a 33.2 secs advantage over Petter Solberg. Mini's return was hit by Kris Meeke retiring from the third stage having beaten Loeb's time in the first stage but Dani Sordo lies sixth in his Mini. “We're a bit disappointed to have a problem so early on but I'm pleased with Kris's speed,” Mini technical mentor David Lapworth said.
