Pakistan President has recently conferred Pakistan's highest civil award Hilal-i- Pakistan to Saudi Ambassador Abdul Aziz Ibrahim Al-Ghadeer in recognition of his sincere services to Pakistan. The ambassador to Pakistan deserves this prestigious award for his untiring contribution in strengthening the fraternal bond between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. During the devastating floods of 2010, the envoy visited flood-affected areas and provided great assistance to the flood victims. Ambassador Al-Ghadeer created two makeshift hospitals with 300 Saudi doctors and volunteers in the disaster struck areas. He helped in the rehabilitation of flood victims. Saudi Arabia and Pakistan enjoy close relations, mainly based on strong religious and cultural affinities. Saudi Arabia has always walked the extra mile to help Pakistan in times of difficulties. In the aftermath of the 2005 earthquake, Saudi Arabia donated over $133 million, which was more than the donation of any other country. The Saudi government provided 4,000 prefabricated houses for the earthquake victims at a total cost of over $17 million. The Pakistani nation offers its heartiest salutation to Ambassador Al-Ghadeer for his unforgettable role in strengthening Pakistan-Saudi ties. We congratulate him on receiving Pakistan's top award of Hilal-i-Pakistan. Mohammed Hafeezur Rahman, Jubail
