FIFA judge Hans-Joachim Eckert has rejected criticism of his summary of the football governing body's investigation into the award of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, according to dpa. 'Unfortunately in jurisprudence there are always many nuances, because facts and findings come to light that can be evaluated differently,' Eckert told Friday's edition of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. Critics have included Wolfgang Niersbach, president of the German Football Federation, and Michael Garcia, the author of the report who claimed the summary was not a fair reflection of his work. However, Eckert insisted his summary of Garcia's report was not a whitewash which simply cleared winning bidders Russia and Qatar. Eckert also said that he would have no objection to the full Garcia report being published, were it legally possible. FIFA currently maintain it is not.
