Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, delivered the speech of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the G20 Summit currently held in Brisbane, Australia. The Crown Prince conveyed the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and expressed his thanks and appreciation to the State of Australia for its efforts to strengthen the role of the group of the G20 which is the main forum for the economic cooperation among its members in serving the common aim of achieving a balanced, strong, and sustainable, global economic growth. Crown Prince Salman also pointed out that the slow pace of the global economic recovery, in addition to serious rise in risks, do require the maintenance and implementation of economic policies along with the supporting structural reforms that serve growth. The Crown Prince stressed that there is a close tie between economic growth and world peace; one cannot be achieved without the other, he said. He called on all for cooperation to address issues that pose threats to peace, such as reaching a settlement for the Arab-Israeli conflict and the Syrian crisis. The Crown Prince welcomed the consensus to establish confidence in the global economy, stressing the need for full implementation of the G20 comprehensive strategies. The Crown Prince also said that enhancing access to sustainable and reliable energy sources with reasonable costs, particularly for poor countries, is an essential condition for alleviating poverty and achieving development. 'The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues its balanced and positive role in cementing the stability of oil markets, taking into account the interests of the producing and consuming countries,' the Crown Prince said. Crown Prince Salman stressed that Saudi Arabia's economy achieved strong growth, particularly in non-oil sectors. He also paid tribute to the progress made in the work of the G20 agenda, emphasizing commitment to working with the group to achieve the common goals.
