Egypt's first government under recently elected President Abdel-Fattah al-Sissi took office in an early morning ceremony Tuesday. The cabinet was sworn in at 7 am in the Ittihadiya presidential palace and al-Sissi headed a government meeting immediately afterwards, state. Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb retained his position as did 20 members of the outgoing cabinet that served under interim president Adly Mansour. Key portfolios including finance, defence and the interior remained unchanged. Fourteen new ministers were appointed, including Sameh Shoukri as foreign minister.
