Who shall stop those who are exploiting & abusing our livelihood?!
Al-Riyadh Editorial
Published in Alriyadh on 27 - 05 - 2014

Have we entered the stage in which it is prohibited to approach the traders due to the private immaculacy they have got? Why is it considered that the citizens is mistaken because of his too much complaints due to that he is unable to realize the reality of matters? Why the citizen is considered as a person who is wrongly accusing a sector which is doing its mission with absolute honesty through commitment to the legislations and laws? Why is it regarded that what control bodies, Nazaha and Ministry of Commerce are talking about is no more than wrong information that can be considered a sort of defamation?
Let's consider the referendum of Ministry of Commerce about the citizen's satisfaction in regard to automobiles agents and realize how they denounced the behavior of the said agents and condemned it. However, in yesterday's edition, as a consequence of the exciting referendum, the ministry has declared in this newspaper's edition of 26th of May, 2014, in page 49, a defamation related to an agency which has not been committed with providing the spare parts and has repeated publishing the referendum in the opposite page.
We know that the citizen is the source of the truth. On the other hand, the exaggeration in the prices of cars, equipment and trucks together with the bad maintenance and avoiding the employment of the citizen or even training him which represent the least right of citizenship are not committed with by such agencies. Thus, you can consider, too, the prior agreement between the manufacturer and the agent about prices specially designed for us in spite of that they are contrary to the prices of the same product in our neighboring countries. It may be that that accountability that has become an objective to the Ministry applied in protecting the cheating and escaping the enforcement of laws and turning around them can be found, as well, in a piece of information published in the economic index of this newspaper which declares imposing fines of SR 80 million on rice traders for controlling its prices and monopolizing it.
There is no normal relationship between the trader and the citizen as long as there is a party who is seeking to achieve the gains through exploiting the opportunities of raising the salaries or allowances, the start of Holy Ramadan, the opening of schools or any other occasions which opens a gap for exploitation. Thus, when the Ministry has become the supervisor and the party in charge of holding others accountable away of the business circle of its ex high officials; the traders have started to declare their protests and publish them away of their old style of silence, lack of interest and carelessness that used to be applied for surpassing the citizen's right and neglecting him.
Trade is free in our country but has reached the level of disorder, monopoly and depriving the citizen from his rights. If there is no one to stop such rule, it shall keep being the similar characteristic between all traders as their target is achieving the gain regardless of whether it is reached in a right or a wrong way. In spite of all of this; we are not against the trader who performs his business through the proper rules that preserves the right of the citizen as we are not asking for grants or donations. However, how many companies, establishments and retailers have worked on training the local work force and employing them? Who among them is paying the legitimate proper alms for becoming held free of commitments? How many businessmen have built schools, hospitals, clinics and public libraries together with caring for the brilliant minds through supporting them in their studies or researches? What about the humanitarian works that they have provided, in spite of that they are receiving transactions that cannot be found anywhere in the world such as the customs reduction or even cancellation, lack of imposing of incremental taxes and receiving generous loans from the state for the various industries and establishments. However, when some party approaches their taboos; their voices start to become louder and they start declare their innocence from "Unreal" charges, in spite of that the plaintiff, the witness and the victim of such fires is the citizen himself who has become the supervisor whose vision and testimony cannot be held doubtful by anyone. Ministry of Commerce shall not be held fair unless it protects him and considers him a priority as he is facing greed that has reached an excessive level which requires that the penalty shall be equal to the nature of the sin!!
