There have been many articles written by me about the banks and their lack of commitment in regard to the consequences of their social responsibility, especially the issues related to participating in supporting the cultural and sports activities in this country in addition to the humanitarian ones. They are not even doing the amount of work less than what they are required to do represented by caring for their employees and providing them with sports and cultural activities. It is even worse than that if we consider that a bank does not contain a library, lectures hall or a cinema. In spite of the articles written by me and by other colleagues of viewpoints writers; there has been no single response from the bank side as if we have been addressing a deaf tribe. As per what has been mentioned in Al-Watan newspaper through its 9th of April issue; His Highness Crown Prince Meqren Bin Abdul Aziz has stated that: " The banks working in Saudi Arabia lack many aspects in regard to what they offer against the benefits they are gaining from the citizen and the state." "Provide me with the name of any bank that has donated or sponsored anything. The simile by which I can describe the banks is that they are like saws which keep sawing during their upwards or downwards movement." What has been said by His Highness the Prince may be more effective than what we, Viewpoints writers, have already said. Does the case need a royal decree in this regard? At the same time, His Highness the Prince provided a comment about the sufficiency line in the Kingdom revealed recently by King Khaled Humanitarian Establishment which has specified it to be SR 8926. He has confirmed the importance of this study and the necessity of applying it in deed. Shall we be leading some action in this regard?
