Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, President of Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Director General of Organization of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Irina Bokova opened at the headquarters of the Organization here yesterday the 'Exhibition of Architectural Heritage of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia'. The Prince toured the five-day exhibition containing 80 historical photographs on the Kingdom's architectural and civilization heritage. Addressing the ceremony, the Prince pointed out that the Commission is currently working on the development of 70 palaces, castles, the State's palaces, and cities' centers including Riyadh. In her speech, Bokova said, 'We stand today to celebrate the civilization and Saudi heritage, and we also celebrate the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a meeting point of civilizations and the historical depth of the change, through one of the activities of the dialogue between the East and the West. I am pleased to announce to you a historical cultural demonstration of an ancient people, recalling the initiatives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques calling for and supporting dialogue between peoples and cultures at the international arenas.' The opening ceremony was attended by Mayor of Jeddah Engineer Hani Abu Ras, Saudi Ambassador to France Dr. Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh, and the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to UNESCO Dr. Ziad Al-Drees.
