The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stressed the importance of working on the implementation of the Action Plan of ' Rabat ' calling for the prohibition of advocacy of racial or religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence. This came at the intervention of the Saudi Ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva Faisal bin Hassan Trad during the interactive dialogue with the United Nations Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief , and the Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the context of the fight against terrorism at the headquarters of the Human Rights Council in Geneva today . He said, “The Kingdom has made supportive efforts at the domestic level to fight this phenomenon including the establishment of King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue, which has held meetings all over the Kingdom with all strata of Saudi society to emphasize the principle of equality, justice, tolerance, non-violence, hatred and racism .' The Ambassador added, 'At the international level, the call of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud came for dialogue between followers of religions and cultures which has been crowned by the establishment of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Center for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue in Vienna with the contribution of Austria and the Kingdom of Spain whose council consists of nine world figures representing the largest global religions and sects in the world. ' He noted that the Center hosted last November the conference of education among followers of religions and cultures, entitled' The Image of the Other '. The Ambassador stressed that the work on the promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the context of the fight against terrorism requires an integrated international effort to agree on the appropriate action that can be taken to ensure the Statesâ€TM territorial integrity, sovereignty and security of their citizens.
