A farce called "Gazal"
Nethar
Published in Alriyadh on 10 - 02 - 2014

"Gazal" is the car that no to which no match has ever been created nay where. It's the car that created a bang that soon turned to a bubble and made fun of us before the whole world especially because it has been launched before King Abdulla. At that day, it has been said that it is going to be manufactured and that there are investors who gave been enthusiastic in regard to it and showed readiness for investing in its manufacturing. However, three years & seven months passed since that declaration and the mountain passed through pregnancy but gave birth to a mouse or has not gave birth to anything even to a bug. The turn has come to Dean of Engineering college to justify this farce as he said: "The car has been a mere academic research for breaking the challenge barrier and getting people introduced to the capabilities of the college members of students and teaching staff in regard to being involved in cars manufacturing field which led us to the idea of "Gazal" that has been implemented and presented in a distinctive way by the college as the academic work has been positive, advanced and successful by all standards, especially if we consider that important parts have been manufactured together with using the fiber." However has never mentioned whether the said "manufactured" parts have been brand new ones that have never been manufactured before or not, while the use of fiber, on the other hand, is not a new thing. In short, has he added any new "invention" to cars industry world to enable us to approve with him that the work has been "positive, advanced and successful"? This is a question that we are waiting its answer. Otherwise, I insist that the issue has been a farce, a waste of the time and money of the students and teaching staff and a futility of no use or benefit. As for the marketing, the car should market itself if it has been associated with a feasibility study which proves its ability of competing the similar imported cars or even outperforming them. At that time, the investors, whether groups or individuals; shall rush for purchasing it.
