The Egyptians achieved victory and legitimacy is back again
Published in Alriyadh on 23 - 01 - 2014

Through its Ninety million people, great achieved history and disappointments; Egypt voted "Yes" to the constitution, and the voting for the parliament and presidency is left for a later time. The nation approved actually and practically the real and complete legitimacy as a first test that has removed the confusions and doubts. The Egyptian nation presented the thought, work and ambitions for a homeland which is marching towards the correct democratic direction without dictates or restricting the decision of a homeland to a person, a party or a group. This means that he or she who said yes is not just a class or a category but massive groups that have not considered the farces of scrawny higher ratios of 99% as what has happened in Egypt has been similar to its peer in the countries in which proper political and democratic practices have been applied long time ago. Even the result of votes counting has not been surprising or unexpected as long as there are various testimonies form neutral people and others who are even hostile to the present regime. All of them provided their judgment honestly and realistically with no complaints of falsification or forgery affecting the results.
What has happened represents the initial starts only but draws, at the same time, the future lines for a country which is important on the Arab and international levels. This start assures that Arabs are neither against the legitimacy based on the public will nor objecting the real democratic method. The claim of that they are slaves guided by masters is not a correct rule as all the societies believed to be advanced in their systems and governments had been ruled earlier by regimes who used to be worse than the ones who have been ruling the Arab region. It is true that the others had been faster than us in resolving the matters and achieving the democracy without passing through conflicts, wars and bloods, in spite of the variation in their ethnic, social groups and historical heritage. We have become drowned in the concerns of others who has set us as a target for creating the disputes and wars in its lands aiming at fragmenting any available national unity. In spite of that this does not represent a justification; our luck had put us in a region which is considered as center of the events and crises making.
The path leading to a big popular victory needs sacrifices supported by true hopes. Egypt deserves to enter the history as a state who has run the election through an advanced method due to that the homogeneity of its society and its surpassing of the complexes (which are) prevalent in the region makes it not embarrassed in regard to declaring all of its arrangements for building a modern state in regard to legislations, system, ruling or governing method and even its security. Furthermore, it is located in geographic area that can change many features in economy, human development and architectural advancement.
Egypt represents the main power in our Arab nation. Thus, the influence of its weakness is dangerous as it affects the Arab condition as a whole. On the other hand, the rise of its power shall be a motivation for creating a homeland which includes all superiority factors that surpass the present and past complications in general.
The same rule applies on Mediterranean states and the massive depth of the African continent when they are put in the lists of peace and war, progress and backwardness.
The lifetime journey has started by the step of the constitution and shall be followed by the steps of comprehensive development of a society which wants to sort itself and remake its history and various components. Thus, Free Egypt shall be the title for a new development that may please some people and, at the same time, raise the hatred of other people. However, it is the determination of nations that never dies.
