14th Session of the Saudi-Egyptian Joint Committee co-chaired by Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabeeah, Minister of Industry and Trade, and Eng. Hatim Saleh, Egyptian Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade, concluded here today. The two sides stressed importance of enhancing volume of trade exchange between the two countries and completion of discussions regarding a draft agreement of double taxation avoidance. During a two-day meeting held in Riyadh, the committee a number of issues in the fields of customs, navy transportation, health care, higher education, scientific search, education, training and public services. The committee recommended coordination of stances between the two countries at regional and international levels within the framework of World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. In the technical and security fields, the committee discussed a number of issues pertaining to combating crimes and taking necessary measures to reduce the transfer of narcotic drugs. The two sides also discussed a number of recommendations in the fields of petroleum, minerals, banking, aviation and electricity. The committee also formed a follow-up committee to meet in Riyadh after six months to follow up what have been implemented regarding decisions and recommendations of the current session. The two ministers signed final minutes of committee's meetings in presence of the two delegations.
