Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, opened here this evening Maaraz Al-Eiman exhibition and patronized the ceremony marking the selection of Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah as capital of Islamic culture for the year 1434 H. (2013). Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz arrived at the venue escorted by Prince Khalid bin Fahd bin Khalid; Prince Fahd bin Abdullah bin Musaed; Prince Sattam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz; Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, President of the General Commission for Tourism and Antiquities; Prince Dr. Abdulaziz bin Sattam bin Abdulaziz; Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah Region; Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Chief of the Court of the Crown Prince and his Special Advisor; and Prince Bandar bin Salman bin Abdulaziz. Upon arrival, he was received by Prince Faisal bin Abdullah bin Mohammed, Minster of Education, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information; Fahd Al-Sammari, Secretary General of King Abdulaziz Foundation for Archives and Information and Sheikh Saleh bin Awad Al-Maghamsi, Secretary General of Celebrating Party of Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah as capital of the Islamic culture, who is also Imam and Khateeb of Madinah-based Quba mosque. The Crown Prince then toured the exhibition and was briefed on its contents through a replica of the city at the beginning of the Saudi era. He then dropped at a photo exhibition on the ancient city up to date. A speech event was then held to mark the choosing of Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah as capital of the Islamic culture.
