Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received here today an Egyptian high-level delegation headed by People's Assembly Speaker Dr. Saad Al-Katatni and Shura Council Speaker Dr. Ahmed Fahmy. The delegation comprises party heads and representatives of political and parliamentary forces, Al-Azhar Sheikhdom and Orthodox Church. The meeting was attended by Majlis Al-Shoura Speaker Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh; Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja; and Saudi Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Arab League Ahmed Qattan. Addressing the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs said 'On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, and the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; I welcome you to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. No doubt that your visit clearly reflects the depth and strength of ties between the two peoples and countries.' We always welcome our brothers the Egyptians in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The presence of hundreds of thousands of them have helped us in achieving the desired development. The Egyptian community in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia enjoys good behavior and commits to the laws, Prince Saud said. We, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, consider the Egyptian people as brothers and friends, wishing them all the best at all times. However, we have not used friendship as a cover to justify intervention in their affairs or impose a trusteeship on them. We, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, believe that friendship will not be true, unless it commits to mutual respect. From here, we do not provide support in order to interfere in the affairs of others; we support our brothers because our destiny, goals and interests are common, Prince Saud added. We do not rule out that foreign actors are behind any disturbance in the well-established relations between our two countries and peoples. We have every confidence that rational people from both sides are able to overcome trivial matters and realize commonality between the two countries, Prince Saud concluded. The Egyptian People's Assembly Speaker Dr. Saad Al-Katatni delivered a speech in which he commended the depth of relation between the two countries, stressing that this close relation can not be affected by an individual act. Dr. Al-Katatni said that the Egyptian high-level delegation came to express appreciation of the government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Dr. Al-Katatni also said Egypt after the revolution wants to have deeper relation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, pointing out that the volume of Saudi and Egyptian investments in both countries reflect the extent of joint cooperation. Following the speech ceremony, they all had dinner.
