, the icon of the Israeli defeat!
Al Riyadh word
Published in Alriyadh on 19 - 10 - 2011

The battle of arresting is similar to a movie from the unknown worlds, when the Palestinians dig a tunnel that extended under one of the Israeli camps, where a hard battle took place that led to kidnapping the prisoner Shalit through the tunnel. Israel tried to recruit its agents to reach their shelter and rejected any efforts in exchanging him with the Palestinian prisoners or even to negotiate about this case, considering it one of the constants in the policies of the extreme right wing.
But why did Israel submit and accepted what it used to reject years ago? And is there a change in its policy and accepting reality, or did the surrounding developments forced it to use flexibility, and it is the one that worked on not getting its word broken from any allying or opposing power?
We don't want to get away from the influences that put Israel in front of the confrontations that wasn't any better, and the worst I s that it sees the cycle of time spinning with things that surprised it, and how it remained looking to the events from a different angel than the one that it used to see to be the feared power that all Arab and Islamic countries cant shake its entity or at least threaten its security.
The Arab spring, if didn't go through Egypt, and change roles and policies, and the explosion of the big anger storage in the street towards it, it wouldn't see the events in such progression, and how the government authority that remained for thirty years loyal to the extinct that its behaviors are opposing the national interests and suddenly it gets eliminated in days, and it didn't expect that the most important Islamic ally would bring back its ambassador and confidently announces its rejection that Israel be the of the region, which Turkey was absent from during the decades of the military ruling.
The third thing is that the harsh wind that blew the Arab region became a field of long debates around the whole world, especially in Europe and America that found their benefits related to changing their policies even if in a different method than that of supporting Israel regardless of the reasons, and the Israeli feeling was that the waves that surrounded it should be broken by accepting releasing the Palestinian prisoners so that they don't be in an isolation that prohibits them from those maneuvers and the benefits that it gained from them.
Perhaps the movement of the Palestinians towards the furthest point by requesting an acknowledgment from the United Nation of their country didn't come as a chance, rather it was used to the new Arab age that got a lot of support from the world, and this enforced Israel's fears that if the case got shown to the United Nations then it will be voted for with a huge majority, and this is the axis that it doesn't want to enter with the international society.
The advices of Israel's allies of making a positive movement, regardless of its kind, maybe beneficial for Israel, and it is currently trying to open a dialogue with the Palestinians to solve the cases that they rejected to negotiate before, and this doesn't mean the submission that Israel is a clean hand that can be shaken, where it is still dirty with everything.
There are still people that doubt the Palestinian victory, how would they exchange one individual for one thousand and twenty seven prisoner, considering this a generosity from Israel, while we know that the invading country imprisoned all the Palestinian people even if not in a direct way, when the movement from one street to another, or one city to another, is like crossing the borders of clashing countries. Moreover, those prisons remained full with any accused person if he didn't participate in any mission, thus it is an Arab victory in a time that we are still living the defeat moment.
