Our cultural age in the expansion of our National Day
Published in Alriyadh on 25 - 09 - 2011

Our relation to our past is very simple, the very limited potentials past. What happened after is an amusing forward movement, from a very poor Nomadism and small and far villages to the cultural, economic and educational presence situations that we live today. The glory path between the ages of King Abdulaziz and King Abdulla was not experienced by any Arab society, and this is some of our believes secrets of our excellence that celebrates quietness and objectivity of cultural building. I remember an anecdote where I once read a text that a well-known Arab educated person wrote back then, I didn't live at his time, but I read what he wrote and he went for pilgrimage and he mentions that he noted that Saudis used to eat the hard peeling of the watermelon and throw what is inside of softness and good-taste. Of course he was not honest but he exaggerated what is said as if he confirms that this human is primitive and doesn't know anything about world's modernity.
I wish if Allah extended his life seventy more years to see that the priority in the diversity of scientific education and the quality of economy and the spread of investment opportunities along with the tourism spread outside his country's borders that compete the economic and political powers in gaining the objectivity of relations with his country and not only oppression or interference. In the age of that writer, our creative poet Ibn Labon said a poem explaining the attraction scent in his lover's cloth, and what he mentioned are types of wild plants, where there was no one that knows the names of any perfumes such as rose oil or some Colonia types back then, but there was what was known by Dukhoon and only specific individuals in a village would own it.
Another poet said another poem with the presence of Oil, where he mentioned Davor, which is an alternative for electricity fuel and kitchen electric tools where the wood was the only cooking tool, then Davor came as cultural presence that amazed him.
And so, our respect and love relation with King Abdulaziz is not resembled by one day in a year only, but rather by each new cultural thing, where it is often spread and important, an extension of his existence with us, and when our current perspective to the future is an anticipation with rich current potentials, and the diversity and development plans are the new fellowship with King Abdulla from the nature of our Arab distinction to our coming project to enter a fellowship of the international fellowship that is educationally and economically distinguished.
Our warmest congratulations to our sons of what they can make of continuous excellence.
