The Kingdom and the moral of political mission
Published in Alriyadh on 15 - 08 - 2011

The Kingdom is required both international and Arab wise to play an influential role in the Arab situations so that it distinguishes its material and spiritual weight as well as its policy that matches all systems. But the case is not that easy in a region that was raised on unstable situations and the distribution of loyalties with external powers, this doesn't mean eliminating it from its national duties if we knew that it is the biggest country in giving loans and investments, because the Arabic reality, the past and the current, doesn't help in putting a ground for a mutual understanding and a successful work.
It realizes that the absence of influential roles of more than one Arab capital is due to searching for safety only, even if some countries took opportunist directions, meaning to show up with more than one face whether on the Arab or international stages. Moreover, the problems that the systems experienced by the public revolutions came because of choosing responsibilities of making radical reforms, and even those revolutions are still in the foundation phase for the next level and revising various internal and external policies.
To deal with the Arab situation is very hard and complex, because for more than one side there are elements that support or reject, and thus when the Kingdom went for betting on Kuwait's freedom, and then the entrance of it forces to Bahrain to stop the chaos, and working to create a Syrian-Lebanese peace, the voices came opposing, because there is who sees this work an order from America, and other that sees it as a fear to the expansion of the modern revolutions to it, and what is weird about the Arabic case is that a lot of the solutions from outside are the ones that get accepted because the pressure comes from the fear of making decisions led by America for example or by initiatives from partner countries.
No body can accuse the Kingdom of being outside the Arab path, where a lot of the meetings with the Arab governments and their opposes were supported by the kingdom, and some of it were successful while others failed for reasons not related to it when it gathered the Palestinian groups, Sudanese, Lebanese and others, and it kept its role neutral, and despite that a lot of big accusations were directed because it cant satisfy all sides as long as they are the ones carrying the nature of their conflicts.
Lets consider the situation in Yemen and Syria and how the attempts of the Kingdom in creating a national harmony environment between the authority and the citizens came direct, even if not announced, it was depending on the concept of duty before maneuver.
In Syria the discussions and meeting were held between the officials of the two countries, and the kingdom's goal was to not take the situation to the point of division and no return between the government and the opposition, but it seems that Syria's view of the situation is totally different than that of the kingdom, and it used the policy of changing faces, and here it was necessary of directing a courageous speech by King Abdulla as a moral responsibility before a political game, so that he be honest with his nation and people.
What is happening also in Yemen is accepted by most internal powers as well as the authority, and it is still working on finding a harmony atmosphere that resolves the conflict so that it doesn't reach a dangerous situation.
In general who accepts or rejects the Kingdom's policy and Arab relations, interprets it in his concept and goals, and we don't have any iris colors if clarity was not a goal, and our interest is not linked to a guardian rejecting to be the mail man for any Arab or international system.
