The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud graced here today Opening Ceremony of the City of Princess Nora bint Abdulrahman University for Girls which is built at a cost of more than SR 20 billion. At Princess Nora bint Abdulrahman University, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques was received by Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region; Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf, Minister of Finance; Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Anqri, Minister of Higher Education and Dr. Mohammed Al-Maziad, Deputy Minister of Finance and Supervisor on the University project. Upon his arrival, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques boarded an automatic train where he toured Princess Nora University. During the tour, the King was briefed on the facilities of the University and listened to a detailed explanation by the Finance Minister and the Deputy Minister of Finance on the administrative, educational and residential facilities. Then, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques headed to the administrative building where he toured by electrical car the building as well as the central library. Upon his arrival to the headquarters of the opening ceremony, the Royal Anthem was played. The Rector of Princess Nora bint Abdulrahman University for Girls Dr. Huda Al-Ameel greeted the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. Then, the ceremony began by reading verses from the Koran. Then, a speech by the minister of finance was delivered. The minister said the overall area of the university is 8 million square meters and the area of the buildings is more than 3 million square meters. The minister said the university includes 15 colleges, an educational hospital with 700 beds and other facilities. Then, the Minister of Higher Education delivered a speech in which he hailed the king's support for education. Afterwards, the director of the university delivered a speech in which she praised the king's establishment of the university. Later, the king watched a documentary on the university and then announced the opening of the university city of Princess Noorah bint Abdulrahman University. Then, the king received a memorial gift, a model of the university, on this occasion from the minister of finance. The event was attended by a number of princes and senior officials.
