The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud, will patronize here on Sunday the opening ceremony of the City of Princess Nora Bint Abdul Rahman University for Girls, which is built at a cost of more than SR 20 billion. The city is spread over an area of ??nearly 8 million square meters. Its new headquarters are located on the King Khalid International Airport Road in Riyadh. It is the largest University City for girls in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. On this occasion, the University's President Dr. Huda Al-Ameel has expressed, on behalf of the University's personnel their great pride for this remarkable gift from the King who has followed up continuously the implementation of this integrated city to be added to other edifices of the higher education in this beloved country. She said that the university project includes an administrative area, comprising buildings and equipment of the university administration; a central library, a conference center, an academic area of buildings and equipment for 15 faculties in varied theoretical, scientific and medical specialties, a 700-bed teaching hospital provided with all medical specialties inclusive of university laboratories, a research zone for King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology along with three specialized scientific research centers for Nano Technology, Information Technology and Biological Sciences. She noted that the residential area includes housing units for families of employees and teaching staff of the university, accommodations for female students, two mosques, schools, two kindergartens, and recreational facilities. the University's Vice President Dr. Waleed bin Ibrahim Al-Mahous has expressed his thanks to the King, the Crown Prince and the Second Deputy Premier for this remarkable gift of the construction of the largest university city designed on the latest model for girls, noting that this gigantic project has been completed in a record time.On her part, the University's Vice President for Higher Studies and Scientific Research Dr. Fardous Bint Saud Al-Saleh has pointed out that University has been designed to accommodate about 40,000 female students, noting that the University is the first one devoted only for girls in the region and the largest university city in the world including the latest scientific, educational and research facilities. She noted that the administrative campus includes the offices of the university administration and the central library with a capacity of 6 million titles, adding that the residential area for the teaching staff consists of 1,026 housing units as well as residential units for 12,000 female students. On the other hand, the University's Vice President for Studies, Development and Follow up Dr Munirah Bint Abdulaziz Al-Abdan has said, ' The total number of the University's employees in administrative, technical and health jobs is 1,973. The University includes today more than 28,000 female students and 1,074 faculty members.'
