An indictment of disaster breeders
Published in Alriyadh on 29 - 01 - 2011

It happened again: Jeddah becomes under water. This happened not because of financial or budget shortage but the disinterest crisis. The search for honest, conscious and moral persons rather than the selfish and public budget robbers became a complex case because the corruption of authorities digs its roots deeper in the projects management. Also, the corruption breeders depend on the public shortening and cross the boundaries of laws again. The heaven gift is not bounded by humane rules or prevented by decisions, so the case unveiled the real face of the morals crisis.
Every citizen keeps his right to have a residence and other life basics, but the absence of planning and the destructive chaos drove every paterfamilias to seek any refuge on earth. Therefore, the slums and irregularities increased. What was hidden revealed by rains because the illicit owners of spacious lands sold it to the poor, and the latter built their houses in torrents estuaries in the absence of the authorities for 30-40 years. Those must be subject to investigations and judged in a way serves the citizens' interests not the corrupted and the beneficiaries.
The situation is painful, but the most painful is that there are no just judgments for those corrupted persons. Even the projects assigned to companies which inherited the execution privileges and are excellent in bad work but in the same time receive billions more than their share.
Budgets of one kilometer of road, an airport, a university, a port or elements of infrastructure are over-estimated; in the same time many Arab or Gulf countries execute their projects with less cost and better quality. Jeddah is crowded with robbery in the disguise of giving privileges to the non-worthy bodies.
We are not the enemies of anybody, but we must reveal the excesses in real starting from planning departments and budgets determine by the authorities to the companies and establishments responsible for the executions without any censorship. Since the negligence of those authorities is a part of the corruption in Jeddah in which more horrible facts to be revealed.
What's important is not to forget this accident when forgetting its consequences since what happened deform the country reputation. And the unqualified or dishonest persons must leave his position, whatever it is, for the sake of the public interest.
