The General Commission for Audiovisual Media has stated that no license has been issued for any person or private entity to establish a media city in the Kingdom. The Commission said in an explanation to what has been reported recently by the media on the use of the name of Saudi Media City, "The General Commission for Audiovisual Media is responsible for issuing the Media City License and no license has been issued for any person or private entity to establish a media city in the Kingdom". It added, "The Media City project is a national project within the National Transformation Program 2020 and will be launched in the coming weeks". The Commission expressed the hope that various media verify information from the competent authorities before publication, noting that it will hold accountable those who violate regulations, royal orders and instructions issued in this regard.
