Sri Lanka is preparing for more rains and landslides after about half a million people were left displaced by four days of bad weather, officials said Sunday, according to dpa. At least 146 people are dead and 112 others are still missing, according to official figures. Sri Lanka's Disaster Management Center (DMC) extended a weather alert in seven of the country's 25 districts as they warned of heavy showers and possible landslides on Monday and Tuesday. Relief workers found more bodies overnight, raising the death toll to 146 from 122, the DMC said. The DMC said 423,068 persons were displaced, but provincial reports said the number displaced was above 600,000.
