With the $150 million donation to the King Salman Center for Humanitarian Aid and Relief in Yemen, Saudi Arabia has once again proved its strong support for the common people of the war-torn country. The latest donation is part of the humanitarian and developmental assistance worth $8.2 billion pledged by the Kingdom since April, 2015. The Kingdom has already dispensed $100 million to the Center. Saudi Arabia has always been in the forefront of efforts to help Yemen and its people even before the country was brought to its present state of chaos by the rebels. Statistics show that Saudi Arabia has extended assistance worth more than $50 billion to Yemen over the past years. This enduring support reflects the commitment of the Kingdom's leadership to ensure a flourishing Yemen that enjoys security, stability, development, and prosperity as part of the wider Arab nation. Saudi Arabia's political and economic support for Yemen has prevented it from sinking into a state of complete destruction. The rebels are hell-bent on bringing about such a destruction as Yemen's continuance as a peaceful nation is not in their interest. The Decisive Storm and the ensuing Operation Restore Hope have prevented the Iranians from totally infesting Yemen. It is clear that the primary objective of the rebels is to spark sectarian clashes in the country to serve their own interests and fulfill the manipulative designs of their masters in Tehran. The Arab coalition in support of restoring legitimacy to Yemen has thrown cold water on these devious, self-serving plans. The coalition has not limited its support to military involvement. It has taken up the humanitarian challenge of bringing relief to the Yemenis, who have suffered deeply from the ill-founded rebellion.
