Nation's interests are paramount
Published in Alriyadh on 23 - 04 - 2017

The royal decrees issued Saturday are clearly aimed at the nation's wellbeing. They confirm the prosperity of the nation, based on rightfulness, truth, justice, decisiveness and determination.
The decrees have covered a series of political and socioeconomic areas. They reflect the resolve of the King to ensure the welfare of citizens and provide them with every possible means to enjoy a decent life. By reinstating the allowances for civil servants and military personnel, the Kingdom's rulers have once again proved that it places the interest of citizens at the top of its priorities.
Saudi Arabia's leadership has been constantly working towards maintaining the dignity of citizens. The periodic resolutions issued by the Kingdom has made it clear that citizens' welfare will in no way be jeopardized. The leadership seeks to provide every means to maintain the nation's position of respect in the international community.
The royal decrees have served the interests of students as well. It has been stipulated that the current semester for all general education schools and universities will end before the beginning of the Holy Month of Ramadan this year. The order eases the pressure on the students and ensures that they observe the holy fasting month without any burden.
The dedication of the soldiers posted along the southern borders have also been recognized with a two-month salary bonus. This gesture is again indicative of the leadership's support for citizens.
At the same time, a clear message has been sent to those working against the public interest. They will be held accountable, as seen in the discharge of the Civil Service Minister from his post. The alleged abuses committed by him will be investigated by a committee set up by the Royal Court, signaling that senior officials, even those holding ministerial ranks, will be held accountable for their actions.
The royal decrees have given a strong impetus to the nation to continue on its path of progress and have motivated citizens to exert every effort to play a part in national advancement.
