The Makkah Police have arrested a Saudi man for allegedly slapping a woman street vendor near a hotel in the city center. Makkah Governor Prince Khalid Al-Faisal had ordered the prompt arrest of the attacker after a video clip of the attack was widely circulated in the social media. Makkah Police spokesman Col. Atti Al-Qurashi said a security team was quickly formed to investigate the case and arrest the offender. From the information collected, the team identified and arrested the suspect who already had a criminal record. The man has been handed over to the competent authority for further investigation prior to prosecution.
