A female citizen called the Jeddah Police to report that two armed men had forcibly entered her home yesterday and were holding her husband captive for ransom. The two men, armed with a handgun and a knife, threatened to kill the husband, an Arab national, unless the wife paid them SR one million in cash. A police force stormed the home and arrested the two men who put up some resistance. Under interrogation, the two men, an Arab and an Asian, admitted that the husband has faked the house intrusion to extort money from his wealthy wife. The three men were handed over to the competent authority prior to their prosecution.
