The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has affirmed its commitment to the principles of the nuclear weapons disarmament and ridding humanity of their destructive threat, noting that the elimination of nuclear weapons constitutes a sure guarantee against their use or threat of using them. The Kingdom reiterated its affirmation of the legitimate right of the States of the region to the peaceful use of nuclear energy in accordance with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)'s standards, procedures and supervision. This came in the speech of the Kingdom, during the United Nations Conference to Negotiate a Legally Binding Instrument to Prohibit Nuclear Weapons in preparation for their total elimination at the headquarters of the International Organization in New York and delivered last night by head of the negotiating delegation and Permanent Deputy Representative of the Kingdom's delegation to the United Nations Advisor Saad bin Abdullah Al-Saad.
