The Saudi Embassy in London has reiterated Saudi Arabia's condemnation of the recent terrorist attack on British Parliament and has affirmed its strong position along with the UK in the fight against terror. Explaining the presence of the attacker, Khalid Masood, in Saudi Arabia some years ago, an Embassy statement said that he was first in the Kingdom as an English teacher from November 2005 for a year, and again from November 2008, also for a year. Responding to media reports, the statement pointed out that Masood again visited Saudi Arabia on an Umrah visa in March, 2015. During his stay in Saudi Arabia, Masood's name had not figured in any security alert list as he did not have any criminal record in Saudi Arabia. The statement added that the terrorist attack in London again showed the importance of international efforts to confront and eliminate terrorism. "At a time like this, our continued security cooperation is an absolute necessity to defeat terrorism and save the lives of innocents. We reiterate Saudi Arabia's stand with the UK at this difficult time and reaffirms its commitment to assist in the ongoing investigations."
