Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz will pay an official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to attend the 28th session of the Arab Summit on March 29. King Salman had received a message from King Abdullah II of Jordan in December, inviting him to attend the Arab Summit. The two countries enjoy warm and close brotherly relations that received a major boost following the visit by Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and his meeting with King Abdullah in April last year. In a joint statement at that time, the two countries had expressed their commitment to political consultations over regional issues and crises. They stressed the need to preserve the region's integrity and unity in the face of attempts to interfere in the region's internal affairs by outside forces, mainly by Iran. The two countries strongly deplored the Iranian attempts to sow the seeds of sectarian sedition, fuel terrorism, aggravate regional disputes and conflicts, and jeopardize stability. Commenting on the King's visit, Dr. Hamdan Al-Samreen, Chairman of the Saudi Council of Chambers and of the Saudi-Jordanian Business Council, said the visit will give a major impetus to the economic cooperation between the two countries. It will allow for more trade and investment partnerships between the Saudi and Jordanian business sectors. He said a high-level team from the Council will be part of the delegation to Jordan. Dr. Al-Samreen said the Saudi-Jordan Economic Forum and the Joint Business Council will hold a series of meetings between Saudi and Jordanian companies when a number of trade agreements are expected to be signed. For his part, Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Dr. Ibrahim Al-Saif said the visit comes in the context of the close and well-established relations between the two brotherly countries under the leadership of King Salman and King Abdullah. "The visit is a blessed occasion. The Jordanian-Saudi relations have been built on strong foundations of love and respect," he said.
