A joint statement is issued following a meeting held between the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The following is a text of joint statement: On the basis of strong historic relations binding the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Jordan and under leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Jordanian King paid a visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, 20/7/1437H, corresponding to 27/4/2016. The two sides held a meeting where they discussed the latest developments at regional and international arenas. They also discussed aspects of cooperation between the two brotherly countries and ways of enhancing them in all fields. Based on what have agreed in light of the joint statement issued on Monday 4/7/1437H, corresponding to 11/4/2016, during a visit paid by Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, to the Kingdom of Jordan, at invitation of King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Based on directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan as well as the two countries' desire to enhance bilateral relations and cooperation in all fields, a minutes of establishment of Saudi-Jordanian Coordination Council was signed on Wednesday 20/7/1437H corresponding to 17/4/2016, co-chaired by Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense and Jordanian Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah Ensour. The council aims to develop and deepen strategic relations between the two countries in all fields in accordance with the joint statement issued on 4/7/1437H corresponding to 11/4/2016. The council also aims to enhance political consultations and coordination regarding bilateral, regional and international issues in addition to enhance existing cooperation between the two countries in all fields in order to achieve aspirations of the two leaderships and peoples. The council will hold periodic meetings between the two countries.
