Saudi Grains Organization has completed procedures for awarding the first batch of imported wheat for the year 1438/1439 AH (2017) amounting to 735,000 tons of durum wheat from European, American (North and South) and Australian origins. The Governor of the organization Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Faris pointed out in a statement today that the contract for this batch comes within the framework of covering local needs and maintaining strategic reserves of wheat, noting that the first batch will arrive in the kingdom, during the period (May-July 2017) on board 12 ships including 8 ships through Jeddah Islamic Port, loaded with 480,000 tons, and 4 ships via King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, loaded with of 255,000 tons.
