The Labor and Social Development Ministry has denied media reports of an amendment in the law related to end-of-service award for expat workers. The reports on media outlets and social networks said that workers from now on would receive a two-month salary for each year of service. Responding to these reports, Khalid Aba-Al-Khail, the ministry's official spokesman, said the labor law entitles the expat worker an end-of-service award of a half-month wage for each of the first five years and a one-month wage for each of the following years according to Article 84 of the law. Aba Al-Khail said all Saudi and expat workers to log on the ministry website, http://www.laboreducation.gov.sa/ to be familiar with their rights and duties.
