The naval patrols of the Border Guards foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of amphetamine tablets into the Kingdom. The patrols responded to a tip off from a citizen walking by the sea of plastic barrels floating in water in the Dhiba coastal area. An official spokesman of the Border Guards said the patrols identified and picked up seven plastic barrels off the water. On examination, the barrels were found to contain more than 1.6 million tablets of amphetamine. Drug syndicates and enemies of the Kingdom are known to target the Saudi youth as part of a larger plan to destabilize it and damage the mental health of future generations. The seizure of such a large quantity of drugs has proved the vigilance of the anti-narcotics and security forces, which have been making every effort to thwart smuggling attempts across the long border.
