Sectarianism is relatively a new phenomenon to us. Some decades ago, there were hardly any controversies arising from sectarianism despite there being several sects and religious denominations. It's not the same today. Since the late '70s, things have taken a turn for the worse. The Arab-Muslim nation has turned into a hotbed of chaos and intolerance, embroiled in internecine conflicts and devastating wars. Divisions often attributed to religion, have in reality, no religious grounding whatsoever. They are, more often than not, rooted in sociopolitical ambitions, severely weakening and dividing the Arab-Muslim world. Iran is a supposedly a Muslim country, as its full name implies. However, its nefarious deeds and designs far from reflect the tolerant call of Islam which staunchly promotes fraternity and solidarity among Muslims. Iran has been fuelling sectarianism, with growing support for specific religious groups who hold other sections of society in downright contempt. Iranian support for these groups goes beyond simple moral patronage, extending to incitement of violence against the Arab-Muslim world. It is no secret that the strings of these violent factions are pulled from Iran. These factions obey the dictates of their masters in Tehran, pursuing its divisive agenda of striking turmoil deep inside the Arab world. Iran is the self-proclaimed champion of the Shia faction regardless of strong opposition to it, particularly from Arab Shias – of course, with the exception of those who have cheaply sold their Arabism. However, Arab Shias are well aware of the fact that Iran is a racist country, discriminating against them because they are not Persians. Iran accords them second class status, people who cannot be fully trusted. Moderate Iranians have documented this discrimination, and Iran simply cannot deny this glaring fact. It should be clear to one and all that Iran has adopted sectarianism as a tool to fulfill its devious designs. It seeks to avenge the destruction of its empire, fighting against the people it considers as belonging to the lowest social order. We should be wary of its agents in the region, who are relentlessly pursuing Tehran's goal of striking discord within the Arab world by deceitfully meddling in its affairs.
