Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Adel bin Zaid Al-Toraifi chaired, at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, here yesterday the opening session of the General Assembly of Arab Satellite Communications Corporation (Arabsat), in the presence of several Arab ministers of communications, heads of media and representatives of Arabsat associate Arab countries. The Minister conveyed to the Assembly greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to the delegates and wished them a pleasant stay, in Saudi Arabia, as their second home. He praised remarkable efforts that have been made over the past years, until Arabsat became an indicator of success and evidence of production and excellence. In the light of developments and changes experienced by the Arab countries, he remarked, which were followed by a profound shift in the concept of the state administration, citing the wise leadership of our country, Saudi Arabia, in cooperation and collaboration with our friendly Arab and Muslim countries, to promote to promote the joint action to more open horizons. Aaddressing the meeting, he said: "All of you have heared of the Saudi Arabia's vision 2030, announced by the Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense and the Chairman of the board of economic Affairs and development, that represents the vision of our country to its performance and the areas of taking off, in the next phase, cooperation and synergy with the Arab, Islamic and international surroundings. Dr. Al-Toraifi pointed out that Arabsat organization has been since its inception 40 years ago, embodies a model of Arab cooperation and integration efforts, building on the achievements of the joint cooperation to best serve the Arab and Islamic nations, as it operates since the launch of the first Arab and Arabic language satellite, at the hands of Prince Sultan bin Salman, adding that Arabsat is realizing successes, in row and complement the programs, one by one.
