King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) signed today a memorandum of understanding with "Huawei" company which is a global leader in the provision of solutions for information and telecommunication technology, to build a new center for future telecommunication technologies for the development of telecommunications and information technology in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to make a quantum leap in communications technologies. The MoU was signed by Prince Dr. Turki Saud bin Mohammed, the City's President and the President of Huawei in the Middle East region, Charles Yang, in the presence of Chinese Ambassador to the Kingdom Li Chengwen and a number of officials. In a news briefing after the signing of the memorandum, Prince Dr. Turki said: The establishment of the center comes in implementation of the agreement signed under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China, aiming to enable researchers in KACST and other educational and research institutions in the Kingdom of upgrading of scientific innovation in the field of fourth and fifth generations.
