Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the President of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, has disclosed that the Commission is currently working on registering Ahsa province file on the UNESCO international heritage list, thanks to the province's historical and touristy sites. In remarks following his inspection visit to Ahsa province's legacy sites yesterday, Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz said the province is now restoring its extraordinary value and traditional characteristics that would qualify it for the international title. He said his visit aims at taking prior-to-rehabilitation notes about some historical and touristy sites to make them eligible to UNESCO membership, citing some repair works to be done at Al-Garah mountain, Al-Qaysariyah historical market, Juatha mosque, Ahsa heritage village, Emiri school, Mihaires palace, Ibrahim palace and Al-Baiaa (allegiance-pledge) house to enter the competition.
