The Board of Directors of the General Organization of Saudi Arabian Airlines held a meeting chaired by President of General Civil Aviation Authority and the Board's President Suleiman bin Abdullah Al-Hamdan in Jeddah yesterday. During the meeting, Al-Hamdan emphasized the importance of efforts by the members of the Board of Directors and all employees to achieve the strategic goals of the Organization and its plans to raise the operational performance and improve services provided to guests. The Director General of the Organization Engineer Saleh Bin Nasser Al-Jasser reviewed the recommendations of the board's previous meeting and reports emanating from the Board of Directors' committees through a visual presentation including operational and financial performance of the General Organization of Saudi Arabian Airlines during the third quarter of 2015, which indicates that the number of passengers totaled 7,000,014 with an increase of 7% compared to the same period of 2014, and the number of domestic and international flights totaled 50434 trips with an increase of 1974 trips compared to the same period of 2014. Al-Jasser said the Organization received two new Boeing ' 777 ' so that the number of new aircraft received up to date is 81 out of 90 aircraft had been contracted to purchase and lease, pointing to the organization's conclusion during 2015 of a new agreement to acquire 50 aircraft to be allocated to domestic operations, bringing the total number of new aircraft to '140'.
