The Speakers of Shura, Representatives, National and Nation Councils in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States concluded their 9th meeting here today with presence of GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani. The GCC Speakers of Shura, Representatives, National and Nation Councils extended thanks to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's host of this meeting, warm hospitality and good preparation of this meeting. At the outset of the meeting, the GCC speakers reviewed the annual report of the chairman of the 8th regular meeting, speaker of Qatari Shura Council Mohammed bin Mubarak Al-Kholaifi, expressing thanks to Al-Kholaifi for his great efforts. The GCC speakers were briefed on the GCC joint action presented by the GCC Secretariat General, stressing their keenness on the cooperation march among the GCC countries to order to achieve the goals and aims. The Speakers of GCC Shura, Representatives and National Councils took a number of decisions, including choosing title 'Combating Terrorism and Terrorist Organizations' to be a GCC joint topic in 2016. The GCC speakers also approved action plan of the GCC Parliamentary Committee on enhancing relations with the European Parliaments in 2016 and, in terms of principles, cooperation with parliaments of the Latin American countries, stressing importance of activation of the GCC parliamentary information network. The Speakers of GCC Shura, Representatives and National Councils also expressed a firm condemnation of terrorist acts against the GCC states, stressing their united stance against any threat to any member of the GCC states.
