Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, President of Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage has participated in the ceremony of Aeronautics and Space Administration of America 'NASA' marking the thirtieth anniversary of the launch of the spacecraft Discovery flight, in Udvar-Hazy Center of the Museum of Space and American Aviation, in the presence Prince Turki bin Saud bin Mohammed, President of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, NASA President General Charles Bolden and the Secretary of the American Smithsonian Museums Group, David J. Skorton. The ceremony was also attended by the Saudi scientific team that accompanied Prince Sultan bin Salman during his exercises in preparation for this trip, including : Khalid bin Fahd Al-Sudairy, the Charg affaires of the Saudi Embassy in Washington Sami Al-Sadhan, directors of military, cultural and health attach offices of the embassy, Vice President for Companies Affairs of Saudi Aramco Company Naser Al-Nafisi, and a number of astronauts who participated in Discovery flight in 1985. During the ceremony, Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz exchanged cordial talks with the Discovery team and guests of the ceremony especially about the details related of the anniversary of Discovery flight, commending the scientific value, which came out this trip and the progress made by the Space and Aviation Research since the launch of Discovery spaceship in 1985 so far. At the end of the ceremony, which was held under the auspices of the Smithsonian Scientific Institute and Saudi Aramco, photos were shot of Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz with astronauts and attendance near Discovery spaceship. The spaceship Discovery' blasted off into space on the seventeenth of June 1985 in a scientific journey included Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz as the first Arab Muslim astronaut, five US astronauts and a French astronaut, while the reserve team were Saudi pilot Abdul Mohsen Al-Bassam and American Jean-Christian.
