Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah on Monday afternoon. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session, Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Adel bin Zaid Al-Toraifi said that the Cabinet stressed the speech delivered by the Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques upon receiving the families of the martyrs of duty who were martyred in the terrorist bombing that targeted a number of personnel of the Special Emergency Force in Asir Region. In his speech, the Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques conveyed the condolences of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to the families of the martyrs of duty; expressed the Kingdom's pride of its citizens who were martyred for protecting and defending the homeland against the advocates of the deviant thought; and confirmed that whoever tries to tamper with the security of the Kingdom and its people will find the response practically and immediately in the field without any delay. The Cabinet reviewed a number of reports on the latest developments at regional, Arab and international arenas, reviewing in this context the efforts being exerted to support the Yemeni people and their legitimate government. The Cabinet emphasized the importance of the unconditional implementation of the United Nations Security Council Resolution No. 2216 to bring Yemen out of its crisis along with the need to intensify efforts to provide humanitarian aid for the brotherly people of Yemen. The Cabinet commended the great humanitarian role being played by King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Works, stressing that the center's efforts in providing relief and humanitarian works come to achieve the basic requirements needed by the Yemeni people in line with the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The Cabinet commended the efforts exerted by the security authorities in the brotherly State of Kuwait which resulted in arresting a terrorist cell that was planning to destabilize the security of Kuwait by storing a huge arsenal of weapons, ammunition, missiles and explosives, and thwarting their terrorist plots. The Cabinet prayed to Allah Almighty to preserve the State of Kuwait from any evil and foil all terrorist plots targeting the security and stability of the region. The Minister of Culture and Information also said that Cabinet discussed a number of issues on local affairs, and reviewed the opening of the 9th session of Okaz Souq, which was opened, on behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, by Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of Makkah Region and Chairman of the Supreme Supervisory Committee for Okaz Souq. The Cabinet stressed the Souq's leading role in maintain the culture, heritage and creativity through various events, visions and programs taking place in the Souq. Dr. Al-Toraifi also said that the Cabinet was briefed on the issues listed on its agenda - including issues Majlis Al-Shura has co-participated in their study - and decided the following: First: The Cabinet approved the continuation of validity of paragraphs (1) and (2) of the Cabinet's Resolution No. (7) dated 01/01/1422H, regarding the allowance of importing Palestinian goods and products. The State shall continue bearing the customs duties of such goods and products for one year as of 11/09/1436H. Second: The Cabinet authorized the Minister of Commerce and Industry - or his deputy - to discuss and sign with the Algerian side a draft memorandum of understanding in the fields of protecting consumer and controlling goods and services between the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria. Third: The Cabinet approved a number of procedures pertaining to the formation of National Committee for Saudi Building Code. Fourth: The Cabinet appointed Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Huthaily as Member of the Board of Directors of Saudi Credit and Savings Bank, representing the Ministry of Finance. Fifth: The Cabinet approved a number of procedures pertaining to the organization of the Public Pension Agency. Sixth: The Cabinet approved a number of amendments to the organizational structure of the General Presidency for Scholarly Research and Ifta. Seventh: The Cabinet approved a number of appointments as follows: 1- Mohammed bin Ali bin Othman Al-Zamil appointed to the post of Economic Advisor (Rank 15) at the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. 2- Abdullah bin Ali bin Mohammed Al-Fa'ar appointed to the post of Ambassador at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 3- Eng. Yousef bin Abdullah bin Owaid Al-Zughaibi appointed to the post of Director General of Real Estate Development Fund (Rank 15) at the Ministry of Housing. 4- Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Quaifli appointed to the post of Organization Advisor (Rank 14) at the Ministry of Finance. 5- Nasser bin Mohamed bin Abdullah Al-Awad appointed to the post of Financial Advisor (Rank 14) at the Ministry of Finance. 6- Eng. Saeed bin Mohammed bin Abdullah Abu Malha appointed to the post of Undersecretary of the Mayor for Reconstruction and Projects (Rank 14) at the Municipality of Asir Region. 7- Abdulrahman bin Muhanna bin Munawar Al-Juhani appointed to the post of Director General of the Makkah-Based General Presidency (Rank 14) at the General Presidency for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice.
